Again its been a long time since I have posted, but here we go again. This is a bust sculpted by Offo of Eli Wallach as Calvera from the film The Magnificent Seven.
Its an absolute fantastic likeness which made the painting of it very easy,
I took this and a couple other of my painted models to The Moson Show in Hungary to enter into the competition and I managed to get a Bronze and a Silver, not too bad I suppose.
There were hundreds of entries and modelers entered from around the World.
While at the Show I managed to meet and speak to several fellow modelers who I had only seen through Youtube, Blogs etc.
I have the Magnificent 7 themselves to paint next, again all excellently sculpted by Offo, whom I managed to meet at the Show.
I never actually took any photos of my models, I was too busy talking etc, so I have borrowed these images of the Bust from other peoples report of the Show.
Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are most welcome.

Art Girona 54mm King Decebalus the Brave of Dacia 87-106 AD
Again this is another of my entries into Soldat De Plom 2018, the pictures also being borrowed from Paco who took the show photos.
I did notice the lower part of the Draco shaft is bent in photo, someone must have touched it after I handed it in to Judge.
This is a very nice sculpt from Art Girona and fitted together really well considering the amount of parts there were to it. I did try for the drab boring colours you would expect for clothing worn by someone in 87-106 AD, even though he was a King.

35mm Caho-Ta with Hroka from Red Republic games Soldat De Plom 2018 Arena Rex
Here is another of my entries that I took to Soldat De Plom 2018 in Girona.
Many people thought that this was a Historical figure of a Red Indian, but in fact its a fantasy figure and of a female.
These are not cheap figures but are of high quality sculpts, from Red Republic for a game called Arena Rex.

Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn 1/9 scale Bust from the film True Grit. Soldat De Plom 2018
Hola to everyone, having just come back from Girona and Barcelona in Spain after entering the Soldat De Plom 2018 painting competition, I still have Spanish in my head.
Having entered 5 entries and winning with 2 of them, this being one, I feel it was a well worth a visit to Spain.
This is a very well sculpted bust from MMM of Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn from the film True Grit in 1/9 scale. I did not take these pictures of my models they are borrowed from Soldat de Plom themselves and are taken by Paco. If you want to see the pictures of the other entries then go to
https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/soldat-de-plom-2018.117930/
there you will see hundreds of fantastically painted models large and small.
This bust won me a Gold medal on the day and was up against some really good competition.
I will be posting my other entries to Soldat de Plom 2018 here soon.
Thanks again for looking and any questions or comments are most welcome.

MMA 54mm Italian Light Infantry Officer in Massaua with Cheetah 1885 Africa
Back again to models with legs and this one has six!
This is a 54mm resin model from Italian company MMA.
Its of an Italian Light Infantry Officer in Massaua in Africa circa 1885. This is not really my period I just fancied painting the cheetah and it was not an easy task painting spots on a 54mm cheetah.
It looks the part, but was a bit of a nuisance getting all parts together to look realistic.

Old Indian Scout Bust by Fin McGechie
Hello again to all that take time to look at my Blog.
This post is slightly different than usual as the model is not from a well known company, rather, this bust of an Old Indian Scout being sculpted by my brother Fin McGechie and obviously painted by myself.
This is his first offering on the sculpting front and has several others on the workbench etc and a couple waiting for me to paint.
The bust itself is slightly larger than 1/9 scale I would guess and needed not much cleanup.
The look tried for was the weary, battle worn, rough and ready Old Indian Scout.
Anyone interested in acquiring a copy of the bust please do contact me, the price will be very reasonable depending on the amount of takers.
Any comments or questions are most welcome.
Thanks again Michael.
