Camerone 30th April 1863 - Last stand Diorama completed 54mm French Foreign Legion

Yes,  at last I have completed this diorama, of the Last stand at Camerone by the French Foreign Legion on the 30th April 1863 in Mexico.
As stated before it is a Pegaso Elite kit in 54mm.
Again I wont bore you with historical details, but it is an interesting story so take a look elsewhere for what happened on this day.
The pictures are again taken with my phone and it was a struggle to get all figures into focus, I think they turned out not too bad.

Thanks for looking.
Any questions or comments are most welcome,  Michael.

28mm Wargames Illustrated Prince Rupert Wargames Foundry limited Edition

Back again and back to a smaller scale figure.  Having been at Targe 2014 in Kirriemuir it put me back into the smaller scale stuff.
So I raked out this old figure of Prince Rupert in 28mm by Wargames Foundry, a nicely sculpted, limited Edition 2 piece figure.
It was a quicker paint than usual,  probably because  the ECW  has never been my cup of tea.
It will probably be back to a larger scale for my next project.
Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are most welcome.

Napoleon King of Italy 54mm Aitna Models Stibbert Museum

Hello again to all that take a look at my Blog and to those that occasionally leave a comment, both are very much appreciated.
I have gone back to a larger model this time, it being of Napoleon King of Italy by Aitna Models of Italy,  in 54mm scale.
It is based on the actual costume which is on display in the Stibbert Museum in Florence, Italy.
All paintwork is as always in Acrylic and NMM used for gold etc.
Any comments or questions are most welcome,  Michael.

28mm Graven Images Dwarf Champion with 2 handed Axe

Hello again.

I picked up this figure 2nd hand a few months back, having been attracted to it mainly because of the lionskin.  Once the blister was opened and I looked over the figure I found it to be very well sculpted and proportioned.
This is the first Graven sculpt I have painted, but will keep my eye out for others.

Photo still taken by my phone.  Any comments or questions are most welcome.

Zealot Miniatures 54mm Captain Xavier

Hello again to all that take time to look at my Blog.

I have here a very nice 54mm sculpt, I say sculpt, but its actually a 3D printed model from a computer generated figure, drawn on a PC. This is the first model I have seen and painted like this in resin and I must say the detail is very good, if not even better than hand sculpted models at this scale.
It is from a company called Zealot Miniatures in the UK.
The model is of a Ships Officer with a satchel full of maps and a walking cane, with binoculars at the ready.
Pictures are still being taken by my phone.

EM4 28mm Future Skirmish Rebel - Army Painter Matt Varnish problem

Hello again to all and sorry for the big delay since my last post.
Holidays, painters block etc are all to blame.

I painted a couple of very old figures I found while raking through old boxes and this is one of them.  I cannot remember who the original maker was but this and others are now sold by EM4.
I used my usual Army Painter Varnish, new tin,  but ended up with a lot of white dots on the figures.  I managed to get most off,  but once photographed there were a lot more visible, so in the bin went the tin. Its a case of once bitten twice shy with me so I am now using Games Workshop Purity Seal and am happy with results.
The white dots are barely visible now unless photo is zoomed in on, but they are there and very annoying.

Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are most welcome.

Pegaso 54mm French Foreign Legion Camerone trooper 3

Hello again, I have managed to get back to this diorama again and have finished the last figure.  So all I have to do now is basework etc.
A little dirt and grime has been added, more will be done in place on base.
Thanks for looking and any questions or comments are most welcome.

Rafm miniatures 25mm Indian Sioux Chief Sitting Bull

Hello again to all that take a look at my Blog.

I was going through my old figure pile and found this one from way back, its a Rafm Indian Chief in a small 25mm scale, I think originally from Canada.
Anyhow these used to be probably my favourite manufacturer of figures back in the day. So I painted it up and here you have it.
It must be about 25 years old or more.

Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are most welcome.

28mm Forgotten and Glorious 14th Brooklyn (84th New York Volunteers) Officer ACW

Hello to all, as I said in the last post I have halted work on the Camerone diorama and started other projects.  So here is a figure I received as a free sample from F. and G. miniatures.
It is a 28mm 14th Brooklyn (84th New York Volunteers) Officer and very nicely sculpted it is too, with no major flash lines etc and easy to paint.
The reds have not photographed well and look far better to the naked eye, I am still using my phone for pictures.

Any questions or comments are most welcome.
Thanks  Michael.

Pegaso French Foreign Legion Camerone 54mm Trooper 2 + Sergeant

Hello again to all.

Here is a further update to my Camerone Diorama, slow process I know, but here are 2 more figures, one more to go then Diorama itself.
There might be a while before I finish this as I have started another 2 projects and this may get shelved, a bad habit of mine and probably most modellers.

The first one is of a wounded trooper, the second the sergeant, denoted by red stripe on cuff and small sword on belt.
Pictures are still being taken by my phone and seem okay to me.
Thanks for looking and any comments or questions are most welcome.

Pegaso 54mm Captain Danjou French Foreign Legion Camerone

Hello again to all. I hope the New Year is going well with you all.

I am way overdue for a post, but been busy painting, so here goes.

This is one of 4 more figures that make up a diorama of The Last stand at Camerone by the French Foreign Legion in Mexico, on the  30th April 1863.
The kit is by Pegaso, which I bought from Ebay, having been started so had to be stripped etc.
This figure is of the Captain who led the defence,  he is Captain Danjou.
I wont go into babbling on about the history of the fight yet, it is interesting but I shall wait until diorama is finished.  I will state that Danjou had a wooden left hand as can be hopefully seen in picture.

Any comments or questions are most welcome.

Thanks for looking,  Michael.
